Elevate Talent Digital Marketing Program will give learners the confidence to understand and participate in digital marketing-focused conversations. By completing this course, learners will have the foundations to enter a digital marketing career or complement their existing professional skill sets with improved digital technology capabilities. The course focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed to successfully work in a digital marketing environment, while also being able to complete entry-level digital marketing activities.

What You'll Learn

  • Define key customer audiences, objectives, and common social media strategies
  • Design and optimize the digital marketing mix for business objectives
  • Analyze common search engine strategies (SEO, SEM)
  • Design and develop a digital marketing strategy aligned to business needs/organizational context
  • Critically reflect on and justify the approach taken to create a digital marketing strategy

Course Outline

  • 1 hour per week of live technical training on a weekday
  • 30mins per week of live office hours with an instructor with an additional option to book 1X1 sessions
  • Up to 2 hours per week of live success program
  • 5-7 hours per week of self paced learning
  • Demo Day on the last week of the program where participants will present the project they completed in the course to a panel of industry experts and potential hiring managers
  • Students will receive an Ontario Tech TALENT verified micro-credential that the learner can display on their digital profile (e.g. LinkedIn) or on their digital resume.

Digital Marketing Specialist

  • Currently 2,500+ related roles in Canada
  • Helps to drive sales for a company through digital platforms like e-commerce websites and social media. Analyzes data on how customers are engaging online to help inform marketing efforts.
  • Can work directly with a company, as a contractor or as a freelancer

Eligibility Requirements:

If you are:

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Belong to an underrepresented community (i.e. Black, Indigenous or Person of Colour, 2SLGBTQ+, newcomer, etc.)
  • Located in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Looking for training to land full-time employment in a tech or innovation role

Course Requirements

You should be willing and able to commit to 24-30 hours per week. Virtual classes are scheduled in the afternoons. Participants are required to attend all classes and be on camera for the duration, as it will prepare you for online interviews and remote employment opportunities.

Online is not easier than the traditional educational process. In fact, many students will say it requires much more time and commitment, we ask that you take this into consideration when selecting to participate in one of our courses.
